What Makes Me Tick

If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

Hello there, I am Kimberly Wall and I am a storyteller, community supporter and animal worshipper. I grew up on a Midwestern farm in Cheese Head country where neighbors cheer on Packer Sunday with the same enthusiasm as when they tow your car dead as a doornail out of a snowdrift.  Traversing the countryside on horseback was my idea of summer vacation and still is.

I love my work, I love my play.  I am an On-Call Angel at a Sacramento animal rescue and fund raise to offset surgeries for the unlucky, and for rescue missions.  I adopted a mountain lion named Romeo in Colorado.  I give services and time to causes that are worthy and good-hearted, and am moved as much by the extraordinary people as their animals.

Painting, writing, hiking, riding, traveling… I am always reminding myself of the difference between critical (like deadlines) and important (like family).

Animals and nature will always have starring roles in what I do, they are integral components of this universal connection we all share.  We are their voices, they are our guides.

“We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals… we patronize the animals for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they are more finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear…”
— Henry Beston, Outermost House
